I always see how people survive in harsh working environments (such as nurses) or boring ones (cashiers). Relationships with neighbors are similar to those with workmates: being nice with them is not a moral imperative but a convenient act of altruism as a form of egoism. It's therefore better to build a good relationship with your neighbors, don't you think? This is very convenient because, unlike what often happens with close friends or family, there's no need to make a big effort to meet your neighbors: they are just there and sooner or later you'll bump into them. I have a good relationship with my neighbors, some have even become friends of mine. That's because I like this concept very much: you may have no family, couple or even friends but you -by sure- have neighbors. So maybe that's what to look into when/if you guys troubleshoot the issue. In my last two posts I talked about my neighbors.
#THIS WAR OF MINE NEIGHBORS UPDATE#
īy your description, I'd wager what happened is that you guys were making that change for Federation votes as you intended but you arguably accidentally made it apply to everything or forgot to update the tooltips to reflect the new rules. Either:ġ.) The bug is in auto-declining becoming auto-accepting instead.Ģ.) The error is in the tool-tip saying that it will auto-decline when you intend it to universally auto-accept. The tool-tip for invites says that letting it expire is an auto-decline, so seeing that that doesn't happen either way its a bug or error. Its war invitations from ANYONE, even if you don't have non-aggression or defensive pacts with them. That said, its not just war invitations from allies, nor is it war invitations from federal members. This may take some significant time for me right now, so if anyone else reading the thread can provide their saves to Stryke first that would be helpful. What I could do is share a save as soon as such a scenario occurs in 2.8, deliberately allowing myself to get pulled into a war by an auto-accept. I probably don't have a save on hand, as I'm early enough in my 2.8.1 campaign that I haven't been invited to wars yet and any save files for it back in 2.7.2 probably got overwritten as I continued the campaign months ago. Again, I don't know if I did something wrong or something else.) (I had made another identical post that was put into "Suggestion" for some reason.

I tried breaking every single pact I had with the empire in question, even removing my envoy or using said envoy to harm relations, to no avail.I don't understand what's happening here. The only things I had with those empires were commercial, research or non-agression pacts, or an envoy, and none of those implies going on your neighbor's offensive war ! And I'm certainly not in a federation either (how could you miss that !?) ! The thing is, I made no such agreement ! And before you asked, I wasn't in a Defensive pact either, I checked multiple times before and after being called to war ! Titles says it all: three times now, across two different games, I've received the following message: "(Neighbor Empire), who we agreed to support in their offensive wars, has declared war on (Other Empire)".Īnd then I'm immediately at war with said Empire and their allies.
